Completed, UHW Perbanas Closes the First Class of Campus Teaching Activities
Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University (UHW) has completed a series of campus teaching activities. This activity, which was initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, is known as the Teaching Campus Program. A total of 17 local students took part in optimal educational services for all elementary school (SD) students in limited and critical conditions during the pandemic.
The Coordinator of the Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University (UHW) Teaching Campus, Achmad Saiful Ulum, S.AB., M.AB., said that the 2021 teaching campus activities were opened and started from February to June. "Student assignments last for approximately 3 months, starting from March 22 to June 25, 2021," he explained after the Closing of the Class 1 Teaching Campus Program, Saturday, July 10, 2021 online.
His party detailed that there were 3 students from the Sharia Economics Undergraduate Study Program and 14 from the Management Undergraduate Study Program. Those who serve to teach elementary school students have been divided into a number of regions, including: Bekasi, Trenggalek, Nganjuk, Lamongan, Sidoarjo, Surabaya, Pasuruan, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and other areas. “Before going into the field on assignments, students are also provided with material by the Ministry of Education and Culture. In addition, they are also directed by field supervisors and accompanying teachers," he said.
The material presented by the students included: Elementary School Pedagogy; Distance Learning Concepts; Offline and Online Learning Creative Strategies; Literacy and Numeracy Learning; Application of Assessment in Learning; Ethics and Communication; The Independent Application for Campus Teaching and Monitoring and Monitoring and Evaluation for Teaching Campus; Students as Behavior Change Ambassadors in the Pandemic Period; Child Protection Principles; and Student Profile Pancasila.
One of the students of the Teaching Campus batch 1, Nadella Putri Shintani, admitted that at first she did not have deep expectations regarding her experience while serving at SD Negeri 4 Joho, Trenggalek Regency. He experienced many new and surprising things during the activity, even having to stay at the house of one of the local elementary school teachers because the distance was quite far.
“I have learned a lot and learned a lot. It turns out that educating elementary school children is not easy. Because they are very innocent and have such great curiosity. So, we have to be careful and very wise in communicating with them, because it is one of the processes of character building,” said the Bachelor of Management student.
Even though he is on the island of Java, Nadella witnessed that his school's working conditions are still having difficulty getting access to educational facilities. "This reminds me personally to be grateful for my current condition because God has given me the opportunity to study so far," he concluded.
