To Increase Economic Teacher Competence, Perbanas Surabaya Lecturers Teach Digital-Based Learning
The teaching and learning process in the Covid-19 pandemic era requires educators or teachers to be more creative. They are required to present learning through online media that is supported by contemporary learning technology so that it is easily accepted by students.
Understanding this situation, Lecturers of STIE Perbanas Surabaya collaborated with the East Java Economic Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) to hold a Training for Competency Improvement of Digital-Based Economics Subjects for Teachers on Saturday, February 13, 2021. The event took place with Zoom media, teachers were provided with debriefing. for learning innovation. The materials provided include: Google Class Room Training, Google Form Training, Video Animation Training for Scribe Video Learning, Animated PPT Training with the Ispring Application, and Play Learning Methods, such as Kahoot.
Chief Executive of Community Service Activities, Dr. Muazaroh, S.E., M.T., said that this training was a form of service from STIE Perbanas Surabaya lecturers in the midst of the Covid 19 campaign. This activity was also to help teachers, especially economics teachers, in presenting subject matter to students to make it more enjoyable.
"The students we are currently educating are students who belong to the Z generation, since they were born they have been accustomed to smartphones and digital. They (students) will also easily accept the lesson if there is visualization, direct practice, and the learning is presented in a fun way, "said the lecturer at STIE Perbanas Surabaya.
He also hopes that the economics teacher who is the training participant can deliver the subject matter to students even better. In addition, the use of animation and video media can be easily added to presentation slides.
Meanwhile, the Head of the East Java Economic MGMP, Herman Hadiyanto, S.E., M.Pd., welcomed the training program held by STIE Perbanas Surabaya. He said that this activity began with a continuous online pandemic. Based on reports from parents, the children experienced burnout. "Our thoughts, the Management of the East Java Economic MGMP, are there so that there are interesting lessons. It turns out that STIE Perbanas can facilitate this situation. Kahoot games, online puzzles for students so they can learn while playing, ”he explained.
He continued, there are two points that can be achieved in this training activity. "Namely, making learning models that are attractive to students. The second is to maximize online learning media, "he hoped.
It should be noted, this training activity lasts for two days totaling 32 hours, starting from the delivery of materials, training, to the collection of training results. The material presented on the first day included: Kahoot playing lesson methods, Google Form Training, and Google Class Room Training. The next day on Saturday, February 20, 2021 is a Scribe Video Learning Animation Training, and Animated PPT with the Ispring Application.
