The Master of Management Study Program at STIE Perbanas Surabaya again held the International Conference for Business and Banking Innovations (ICOBBI) 2020. For two days, 14-15 August 2020, this international conference was initiated by the Postgraduate Student Association (Himapas) Master of Management STIE Perbanas Surabaya.

Secretary of the Master of Management Study Program (Prodi) STIE Perbanas Surabaya Dr. Ronny, S.Kom., M.Kom., M.H said the ICOBBI has been held for the second time. "In August 2019, we also held a similar activity. Even though we are currently having a Covid-19 pandemic, we are coping with it by conducting a video conference through the Zoom application, "explained Dr. Ronny when met, Friday, August 14, 2020.

He continued, this year's ICOBBI 2020 has the theme "Nurturing Business and Banking Sustainability". In general, the keynote speakers discussed business and banking can go hand in hand and be sustainable. Especially in the current situation, the banking sector has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"In this conference, the keynote speakers discussed this big theme from the point of view of their respective glasses. While looking for the best solution for any problems that arise, "added Ronny.

In line with him, the Head of MM STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Tatik Suryani, Psi., M.M. adding sustainability is an important issue for long-term business continuity. "Business is not only oriented towards Profit but also other 2Ps, namely Planet and People," he added.

The keynote speakers were six people from five different countries. The keynote speakers on the first day of the conference included: Head of the Master of Management Study Program at STIE Perbanas Surabaya Prof. Dr. Tatik Suryani, Psi., MM from Indonesia, Associate Prof. Pallavi Pathak, Ph.D from India, and Prof. Reevani Bustami, Ph.D from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Then, on the second day of ICOBBI 2020, it was filled by the Director of the Maritime Academy of Asia and The Pacific, Prof. Angelica M. Baylon, Ph.D from the Philippines, Associate Prof. Dr. Ellisha Nasruddin from the Graduate School of Business USM Malaysia, and Chonlantis Darawong, Ph.D from Sripatum Chonburi University Thailand.

Meanwhile, there are six other universities that support this event, namely 17 August 45 University Surabaya, Surabaya Universtas, Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, Dian Nuswantoro University Semarang, STIE Nitro Makasar, and STIE 66 Kendari Southeast Sulawesi as co-hosts, ICOBBI 2020 was attended by 150 participants consisting of students, lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and many others.

In this international conference, as many as 63 speakers made presentations on research results. The number of presenters has almost tripled from the previous one. "Even though it has only been held twice, the number of participating speakers continues to increase. The first year of implementation, there were only 23 presenters. But this year it has doubled, "said Ronny.

In addition, the committee has prepared two award categories for presenters, namely the best paper category and best presenter. The research was conducted by reviewers who were not only from STIE Perbanas Surabaya. The selected works will be recommended to be sent to the Sinta 2 and 3 indexed journals published by STIE Perbanas, namely the Ventura Journal and the Journal of Business and Banking. Through the 2020 ICOBBI, STIE Perbanas Surabaya hopes that activities like this can improve the quality of research by students, lecturers, or practitioners as well as to create a conducive academic atmosphere. (eko/r)
