STIE Perbanas Surabaya Employee Cooperative Holds RAT Online
The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and the imposition of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the Surabaya Municipality have not prevented the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Employee Cooperative (Kopkar) from continuing to hold the Annual Member Meeting (RAT). Right on Thursday, April 30, 2020, the employee cooperative from the Best Business and Banking Campus in Indonesia held an online RAT. RAT activities are routinely held as a medium for submitting accountability reports for cooperative managers and supervisors. In fact, cooperative members can be involved in the proposed work program for the next year.
Chairman of the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Employee Cooperative, Dr. Supriyati, conveyed that the cooperative as one of the MSMEs must be maintained. Even in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, routine activities must continue. According to him, holding the Kopkar STIE Perbanas Surabaya RAT is important to determine strategic steps for cooperatives in the future. "Moreover, the PSBB which has been implemented by the Municipality of Surabaya since April 28, 2020, does not allow Kopkar STIE Perbanas to gather members so that RAT can be run. So, online RAT is the best solution in the condition of COVID-19," said Supriyati.
He continued, online RATs are actually very much influenced by the mechanisms and systems that are built internally. Supriyati admitted that it was indeed not easy to build a computerized operational mechanism and system for cooperatives. Limited resources, technical capabilities, limited funds, support from other parties greatly affect the operation of the cooperative. The working mechanism, computerized bookkeeping system to the membership system built by Kopkar STIE Perbanas Surabaya are the foundations for the cooperative he leads currently still exist in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. "So, this condition does not prevent you from holding RAT online," he added.
Please note, when online RAT Kopkar STIE Perbanas Surabaya uses the Zoom application. More than 83 members actively participated and voiced their ideas of building Indonesian cooperatives, especially in STIE Perbanas Surabaya so that they can stay more advanced in the future.
"Hopefully the initial steps taken by Kopkar STIE Perbanas Surabaya can be followed by other cooperatives. Do not make the condition of the COVID-19 outbreak hinder the operations and routine of cooperatives. Moreover, the government has issued four new cooperative program schemes that are affected by COVID-19 so that cooperatives must become economic teachers. society and this nation, "he concluded. (hms)
