Saturday, August 31 2019, the Library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya carried out community service activities. This event is in collaboration with the Community Reading Park (TBM) in the Sukolilo District and Rungkut District, Surabaya City. There are at least 29 TBMs, 12 TBMs from Sukolilo District and 17 TBMs from Rungkut District.

The Head of the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library, Munawaroh, S.S., M.Sc., said that this event was a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from his work unit. Currently the library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya has been accredited A, thus proving progress in governance. According to him, this progress means that the environment also participates in being promoted, including the Community Reading Park.

Furthermore, Munawaroh explained that the CSR program has been carried out since 2016, namely by collaborating with Elementary Schools (SD), SMA and SMK to TBM. Activities that are realized include: managing classroom corners, class reading corners to publishing a collection of short stories from elementary school students about their dreams and hopes for the future.

In this service program, his party held a TBM Management Workshop: Digital Literacy in Self Character Creation. Located at the Campus 1 Library, all managers who were present were given insights into library management that was aligned with the times, to be precise the use of the internet and social media. After presenting the material, all participants discussed how to make the right formula for social media, such as: Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube.

One of the participants, Yetik Afriana, said that his party had participated in the training twice held by the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library. During the training, he felt that there were additional information and new experiences. His party can also formulate a desire to create a creative, intelligent, and innovative self-character. "How to use digital media, social media (social media, ed), Youtube, FB, (Facebook), and other promotional media. There, we can be creative and market the results so that we get benefits, "said Yetik after the training.

He also hopes that the collaboration between the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library and TBM RW 08 Nginden Jangkungan, Sukolilo District will continue. The reason is, in the future a new TBM will be opened in the neighborhood, so it needs assistance from a librarian team from STIE Perbanas Surabaya.
