STIE Perbanas Surabaya Ranks Up, in 67th Position of PTN and PTS in Indonesia
Towards the commemoration of the 74th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, STIE Perbanas Surabaya received good news from a Press Release issued by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The Business and Banking Campus is located at Jalan Nginden Semolo 34-36 Surabaya and Campus 2 Jl. Wonorejo Utara 16 Rungkut Surabaya, made it into the top 100 Best Universities in Indonesia for the category of Non-Vocational Higher Education (academic education).
Reporting from the ristekdikti.go.id page, STIE Perbanas Surabaya in 2019 was ranked 67 out of 2,141 universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. This means that this year STIE Perbanas Surabaya has climbed 3 places from the first in 2018 which was ranked 70. Of course, this achievement makes STIE Perbanas Surabaya a university in cluster 2.
In line with the press release delivered by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, this clustering was carried out to map Indonesian universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in order to improve the quality of higher education as well as to become the basis for the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education to provide policies according to the capacity of each college cluster.
"Our goal is to encourage Indonesian universities to progress and enter the world class. This encouragement becomes very important. If we have said this, we can do the mapping. The goal is to map the Kemenristekdikti tertiary institutions how to make policies for each in the higher education institutions, so that in the future we can realize quality universities, "said Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Mohamad Nasir as quoted from ristekdikti.go. en on Friday, August 16, 2019.
On this occasion, Mohamad Nasir reiterated that there is no dichotomy between state universities (PTN) and private universities (PTS). According to him, the most important thing in a college is its quality. In fact, the Menristekdikti also appreciated a number of private universities being able to compete with state universities and being in cluster 2.
Based on the Press Release of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number: 147 / SP / HM / BKKP / VIII / 2019, the 2019 Higher Education Rankings focus on indicators or assessments based on Output - Outcome Base, namely by looking at Input Performance with a weight of 40% which includes Input performance (15 %) and Process (25%), as well as Output Performance with a weight of 60% which includes Output Performance (25%) and Outcome (35%). The addition of these new indicators is an effort so that universities can actively respond to the times, especially the fourth industrial revolution and the need for labor.
Thus, if sorted according to the scope of high schools, STIE Perbanas Surabaya still ranks first campus. This achievement is in line with the vision of STIE Perbanas Surabaya as a leading and leading campus in Indonesia. (public relations)
