The Chief Executive of the Commemoration of Eid Al-Adha 1437H, Mochamad Wahyu Mustofa, said that this activity was aimed at commemorating the struggle of Prophet Ibrahim AS who sacrificed his son Ismail in the name of Allah SWT. "From the sincerity of the two prophets, we can learn how to donate a number of wealth we have to sacrifice in the name of Allah SWT. so that later it can increase faith and piety to Him, "he explained.
Before the sacrificial animal was slaughtered, on the night of September 11, 2016 to be precise, after evening prayer, several residents of STIE Perbanas Surabaya carried out a round-trip takbir to the area around Jalan Nginden Semolo. Excitement can be seen from the echo of the takbir that is echoed along the road.
According to Mustofa, the activity of slaughtering sacrificial animals was previously carried out by the Takmir of the STIE Perbanas Mosque, but in 2016 it was handed over to the Islamic Spiritual Activity Unit (UKKI). "The distribution of this sacrificial meat is intended for residents in campus 1 and campus 2 of STIE Perbanas Surabaya. At least 600 coupons were distributed to residents on Friday so that today they can be exchanged for meat, "he added.
"We hope that the distribution of qurbani meat can be beneficial to residents, especially those who are less fortunate. We are also grateful to the lecturers and staff, as well as those who have agreed to sacrifice at STIE Perbanas Surabaya, I hope that our practice can be accepted by Allah SWT, so that it becomes a provision to reach heaven in the afterlife, "he hoped.
