Youth are the pioneers of the nation's progress which will later play an important role in building a better Indonesia in the future. The entrepreneurial spirit needs to be formed and nurtured from an early age so that the mentality of youth is better prepared to face competition. Moreover, lately the concept of sharia has penetrated into the national and international business world. In order to equip young people to have an entrepreneurial spirit, the Bachelor of Islamic Economics Study Program at STIE Perbanas Surabaya held a National Entrepreneurship Seminar with the theme "How To Be An Islamic Entrepreneur" on Thursday, (11/8).

Taking place in the Auditorium Room of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, this activity was attended by at least 200 participants ranging from high school / vocational / MA students in East Java, students, and the general public. This activity is intended to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of young people who promote Islamic law.

Chairman of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dr. Lutfi, SE., M.Fin., Explained that business and business competition in this globalization era is quite difficult. Moreover, a business or business that is based on the provisions of Islamic law, of course, requires extensive expertise, strategy and insight. "Let us take this opportunity to add more references in opening a business or business which is in accordance with established Islamic law," he said during his speech and opened the event.

Speakers who were presented were also from professionals and were already involved in sharia-based businesses both in the sharia banking and sharia business fields. From sharia banking, the material presented by Ilham Wahyudi, S.EI., M.EI., (Director of Sharia Business Consultant (SBC) BMT Sidogiri) and sharia business are Ir. H. Muhammad Rusli, M.MT., (Founder / Owner PASMIRA). At the event, both moderated by Dr. Dra. Ec. Wiwik Lestari, M.Sc., (Head of Islamic Economics Study Program at STIE Perbanas Surabaya).

When met after the event, Ilham Wahyudi, S.EI., M.EI., said that there are a lot of sharia business opportunities, especially in the financial system, which is inculsive to the villages. The people who are fighting are of course the youths, because they are fresher so the opportunity is very big. "Youths should not be like still water, but like flowing water. Because flowing water depicts a young man who has the ability to explore self-competence, ”he explained.

It is hoped that the national entrepreneurial seminar activities will later be able to foster entrepreneurial souls for students and students who are engaged in businesses based on Islamic law. So, they will be ready to face globalization which requires soft skills to develop more advanced and competently. (Eko)
