Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas (UHW Perbanas) once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the enhancement of young generation competencies through a workshop entitled Digitalization of Accounting and Banking Processes Based on Information Systems. The activity was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, May 6.
The workshop was attended by eleventh-grade students from SMK Plus Al Istiqomah Garut and SMK Ketintang Surabaya. Through this activity, the students gained direct experience regarding the digital transformation currently implemented in the fields of accounting and banking.
The Head of the Integrated Laboratory of UHW Perbanas, Nur’aini Rokhmania, stated that the workshop aimed to provide meaningful experiences for students related to digital transformation in accounting processes, particularly through the use of SAP ERP software. In the banking sector, UHW Perbanas has independently developed a learning system known as Lab Operation Bank (LOB).
“Through this activity, students are able to directly understand business processes, particularly in accounting and the digitalization of the banking sector,” she explained.
During the banking session, students were introduced to banking services and their business processes through the website-based LOB software. In the simulation, students learned the procedures for cash deposits and withdrawals, beginning with filling out transaction slips. Furthermore, the students input data into the software and observed the outcomes of a series of modern banking operational processes in a more practical and interactive manner.
“The banking materials were delivered by Mrs. Dewi Ayu Wulandari and Mrs. Evi Sistiyarini,” explained Nia.
Meanwhile, in the accounting session, students were introduced to accounting information systems using SAP ERP software. The software has been widely utilized by major companies in Indonesia as well as multinational corporations. In addition to receiving introductory materials, participants also practiced using the ERP software for the purchase order (PO) process. “This material was presented by myself together with Mrs. Dewi Murdiawati,” she concluded.
