The Student Representative Council (DPM) of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas held an online candidate speech session for the 2026–2027 DPM management through Zoom Meeting on Friday (May 8). The event was part of the election process for the new DPM management, aimed at introducing the candidates’ vision and mission to the university academic community.
Fira Anastasya, Chairperson of the DPM General Election Committee, explained that the speech session was conducted to provide an overview of the future direction of DPM leadership.
“Through this activity, we aim to understand the vision and mission of the future DPM leaders, which can also be directly observed by university leaders and student affairs advisors,” said the student who currently serves as President Commissioner of DPM UHW Perbanas for the 2025–2026 period.
During the event, three candidate teams presented their ideas and programs. Each team consisted of two to three members. However, the election mechanism will still be conducted individually to determine the next President Commissioner of DPM.
Fira further explained that after the speech session, the next stage would be an open debate accessible to all students. The forum is intended to provide students with a deeper understanding of the candidates’ ideas and work programs before the voting process begins. “The next stage is the open debate, which will be open to all students. After the open debate session concludes, there will be a polling session to elect the President Commissioner,” she explained.
Through this regeneration process, DPM UHW Perbanas is expected to continue developing into an active and aspirational student organization capable of bridging student needs with the university administration. Fira also expressed her hopes for the future DPM management to remain united and committed to carrying out their responsibilities effectively.
“We hope that the future DPM can truly become a platform capable of accommodating student aspirations, remain solid in carrying out its responsibilities, and continue presenting beneficial and relevant programs for students. For those who will later be elected, I hope they can carry out their mandate responsibly, stay humble, continue learning, and support one another. Being part of DPM is not merely about holding a position, but about creating positive impact and benefits for many people,” she concluded. (eko/hms)
