Universitas Hayam Wuruk (UHW) Perbanas recently organized a National Dialogue event open to both students and the general public. Held at the 10th Floor Auditorium of the Wonorejo Campus, the event carried the theme "Building an Inclusive Economy through Education: Preparing a Competitive Golden Generation."Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., Rector of UHW Perbanas, emphasized that this event reflects the university’s commitment to instilling national values, which are essential to preserving the unity of Indonesia. He highlighted that these ideals are also captured in the lyrics of the university’s hymn, Merajut Bhineka Merenda Nusantara.
“Merajut Bhineka means weaving together our differences, and Merenda Nusantara signifies that our diversity is the foundation of our nation’s unity,” he explained on Saturday (July 5).
The choice of an inclusive economy as the central theme is rooted in its strategic importance and relevance in strengthening the nation. According to Dr. Yudi, the broader public—especially the younger generation—must recognize the critical role that unity in diversity plays in national development.
“If we aim to advance economically, politically, or in any other sector, we must rely on two fundamental assets: unity and an awareness of our diversity. I hope these values resonate with Generation Z and are practiced in their daily lives,” he added..jpeg)

He also encouraged Indonesian youth to develop a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, broad-mindedness, and the skills necessary to make meaningful contributions.
“Do something that benefits others. This is especially important for young people today so they don’t become isolated. If they don’t understand their own nation, their motivations will differ. But with this understanding, I believe they’ll be more driven to contribute to the nation,” he advised.
In the same spirit, UHW Perbanas also held a Photography and Poster Competition as part of the Festival Kebangsaan (National Festival), which attracted participation from students across various schools and universities throughout the country.
This series of events reflects the vital role of higher education in shaping and preparing the younger generation to become the “Golden Generation” envisioned by the Indonesian nation. (eko/pr)
