On Monday, July 23, 2016 at the Hotel Ibis Jemursari Surabaya, the Center for Research and Community Service (PPPM) STIE Perbanas Surabaya held a workshop: "Mapping the Tri Dharma Output of Higher Education with Intellectual Property Rights" which was intended for local lecturers. This activity, which was first held by PPPM STIE Perbanas Surabaya, aims to provide insight to all lecturers about Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi activities whose output can be registered as Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) as potential copyright works. The intended output forms, such as: Research and Community Service which can be realized in Textbooks and Modules.
Before the material was delivered, this semiloka event was opened with remarks by the Head of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dr. Lutfi, SE., M.Fin. He said that this activity is important to do considering that the works of STIE Perbanas Surabaya lecturers that come from research and community service are numerous. Then, several textbooks and learning modules that were used by them were also not small. So, this semiloka activity is expected to be able to help the lecturers in registering the copyrighted works on HAKI.
On that occasion, the presenters who were presented were Tri Rusti Maydrawati, SH., MH., Who came from Hangtuah University, Surabaya. He said that he delivered material on Mapping the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with the Potential of Intellectual Property Rights as well as the Application and Mechanism of IPR Submission. Meanwhile, the material on Understanding the Potential of Intellectual Property Rights in Higher Education was delivered by Lecturer at STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Djuwito, SH., M.Hum. This activity, which was held for the first time by PPPM which involved all lecturers, was communicative and informative, the article was conceptualized in the form of discussion activities. The enthusiasm of the lecturers of STIE Perbanas Surabaya was very visible, this was evident from the number of questions asked and the feedback provided by the speakers.
The person in charge of the seminar and workshop activities, Tri Suhartuti, SS., Hopes that later all the lecturers' works will get HAKI. "I hope that in the future all works of lecturers and students will be registered for copyright, in the near future, which will be selected first, at least each study program has 1 registered work.
