The digital world has become an integral part of daily life. Communication and information through digital channels are abundant and diverse. Particularly for those with social media accounts, it’s common to encounter an overwhelming amount of content in the form of photos and videos. However, the accuracy of such information needs to be fact-checked to prevent the spread of hoaxes.
Addressing this issue, Hayam Wuruk University Perbanas (UHW Perbanas) organized a Fact-Checking Training to counter misinformation. Held in Room C301 of the Wonorejo Campus, faculty and staff actively participated in one of the activities commemorating the XI Lustrum of UHW Perbanas.
As stated by the Vice Chairperson of the XI Lustrum, Ade Dina Herlina, the university collaborated with Mafindo Sidoarjo as the training facilitator.
"We are partnering with Mafindo to raise awareness among UHW Perbanas employees about protecting personal information and using social media wisely. This session also provided us with insights and methods to verify whether video or photo content is a hoax," explained Dina during the training on Friday (17/12).
She emphasized the hope that UHW Perbanas staff would manage information wisely and be cautious when sharing content, ensuring its accuracy beforehand.
"We aim for this training to be implemented so that colleagues can exercise caution in disseminating information or content, verifying its truth first," concluded the Head of Human Capital and General Affairs. (eko/hms)
