To enhance the Human Development Index (IPM), the Surabaya City Government is launching the One Graduate One Poor Family program starting May 2024. In anticipation of this, Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas is actively participating and is prepared to accept new students for the new semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
UHW Perbanas Rector, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., stated that they have prepared applied study programs to accommodate the interests of students from Surabaya. Moreover, the Surabaya Mayor has provided criteria for campuses with job linkages similar to vocational programs.
“At UHW Perbanas, we already have a vocational program, namely the Diploma 3 in Banking and Finance. Our program is also accredited with an A rating,” he explained after attending the Inauguration of the Bibit Unggul Dormitory by the Surabaya City Government in Kalijudan Tambaksari on Monday (26/8).
Additionally, UHW Perbanas has prepared initiatives to improve graduate employability through various programs such as Job Preparation Program, Internship Program, Campus Hiring, and Job Fair. “All these programs are scheduled by the UHW Perbanas Career and Alumni Center,” he added.
For reference, UHW Perbanas has been running a similar cooperation program with the Siak Regency Government. The program, called the Local Student Scholarship, has been in place since 2017. Many alumni have returned to work in their home regions, and some have already found employment in Surabaya and its surroundings. (pr)
