The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas welcomed a visit from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta. Held in Room C401 of the UHW Perbanas Wonorejo Campus, the meeting involved several key officials from the FEB dean's office as part of their efforts to prepare for international accreditation.
Dr. Januar Eko Prasetio, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPN Yogyakarta, shared that he was tasked by the rector to prepare for international accreditation at his faculty. He explained that FEB UPN Veteran Yogyakarta was preparing documentation for international accreditation. Given that the international accreditation agency was not yet recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), they decided to pivot towards using the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) accreditation.
"We saw that FEB UHW Perbanas is also using IACBE international accreditation, so we came here to learn about their application process," he explained during the visit on Thursday, August 8th.
Dr. Lutfi, S.E., M.Fin., Dean of FEB UHW Perbanas, revealed that they have been preparing for IACBE international accreditation since 2022. According to him, the initial step involved becoming a member. After meeting the criteria, FEB UHW Perbanas achieved candidate accreditation status, and a site visit from IACBE is scheduled for September 2024. "That’s why we are very busy this month preparing for this agenda," he said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Dra. Tatik Suryani, Psi., M.M., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at UHW Perbanas, noted that this event was highly beneficial. Both institutions share a common mission to gain international recognition through accreditation programs. "We hope that all parties involved in this visit can make the most of this benchmarking opportunity, and that the goal of achieving international accreditation will soon be realized," she hoped. (pr)
