Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas through Lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) held a Community Service (Abdimas) activity entitled "Capital Market and Banking Training" to students of SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

This activity aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of students of SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya about the capital market and banking, as well as foster their interest in investing and working in the financial sector.

The event was opened by Dr. Lutfi, S.E., M.Fin. Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas. In his remarks, he said that this Abdimas activity is a form of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas commitment to contribute to improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

"We want to share knowledge with high school students so that they have sufficient provisions to enter the world of work or continue their education to a higher level," said Dr. Lutfi, S.E., M.Fin.

The Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturer Team involved in this activity are Mrs. Agustina Ratna Dwianti, S.E., M.SA. , Mrs. Ellen Theresia Sihotang, S.E., MBA, Ak. , Mrs. Evi Sistiyarini, SE, MM. , Mrs. Yulian Belinda Ambarwati, SE, MM. and Mrs. Zubaidah Nasution, SE, M.SEI.

The lecturer team presented material on the basics of the capital market, types of investments, and how to analyze risk and return in investing and also explained about banking systems and products, as well as tips on managing personal finances.

The students of SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya seemed enthusiastic about participating in this training. They actively asked questions and discussed with the speakers.

"This activity is very useful for us to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of capital markets and banking and makes us more interested in the field of Economics and Business" said one of SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya Students.

This Abdimas activity was closed with the awarding of prizes to the best and most active SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya students during the training. Abdimas activities held by the Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturer Team at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas provide many benefits for SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya students, including:

1. Increase knowledge and understanding of the capital market and banking.
2. Growing interest in investing and being involved in the financial sector.
3. Provide provisions for students to enter the world of work or continue their education to a higher level.
4. Strengthening the relationship between University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas and SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya.

Abdimas activities held by the University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturer Team are positive and beneficial activities for SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya students. The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas hopes that this activity can be sustainable and can benefit more students in Indonesia, especially in East Java.
