The commemoration of Mother's Day which falls on December 22 is marked with various activities. Like what was done by the University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas together with the Indonesian Photojournalist (PFI) Surabaya held the “IBU” Book Review Talk Show on Wednesday, (22/12). Taking place offline on a limited basis at the Main Campus of UHW Perbanas, Jalan Wonorejo Utara 16 Rungkut Surabaya, this activity was attended by students, lecturers, and the general public.

The Chancellor of UHW Perbanas, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., expressed his gratitude for the “Mother” Book Review Talk Show to be held so well. According to him, it is an honor because the campus is believed to be a place to get to know Mother closely. On this occasion, the struggle and progress of Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa can be used as an example and motivation to achieve success.

“We are happy with activities like this. Together with PFI Surabaya, we have worked together for the second time. Hopefully this collaboration will continue in the future," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of PFI Surabaya, Suryanto, S.IKom., welcomed the offer from the UHW Perbanas. His party plans to hold various activities, such as photo exhibitions to trainings from the point of view of journalistic photography. "Hopefully this event will bring benefits and knowledge to all of us," hoped Suryanto.

The IBU Book Review Talk Show was attended by speakers from writers and people involved in the preparation process. They are Trisnadi Marjan, Fatimatuz Zahroh, and Eri Siswanto. In his presentation, Trisnadi emphasized that the book entitled IBU has nothing to do with politics. This book was published without the knowledge of Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa. "At that time she was surprised, Mrs. Shinta Nurwahid could write here (Book of IBU)," he said at the launch.

Meanwhile, Fatimatus Zahroh detailed that in the book IBU shows a portrait of a figure's persistence in giving his best effort in achieving noble desires. That is the implied meaning he shares with the reader.

"I remember and I am inspired that the struggle will never end, everyone must struggle and the struggle must continue," he explained.

If you look at the background of Mrs. Khofifah, Ima sees that she is not from a rich person or a conglomerate or the son of a big Kyai. “But a village boy from Jemursari, he even sells ice lolly around the village. With great fighting spirit and tenacity, he finally reached his current position,” explained Ima. (eko/hms)
