Quality assurance is a systematic process of establishing, implementing, evaluating, controlling, and continuously improving higher education standards to ensure stakeholder satisfaction. This process is carried out through the cycle of Establishment, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement (PPEPP) as a commitment to continuous quality improvement and the development of a strong quality culture within the university.
At Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, quality assurance is administered by the Quality Assurance Center (QAC), a strategic unit responsible for managing and ensuring the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) across all university units. In performing its functions, the QAC is supported by a tiered quality assurance structure, consisting of the Faculty Quality Assurance Group (GPM) at the faculty level and the Program Quality Assurance Unit (GKM) at the study program level. This structure ensures that quality assurance processes are implemented effectively, systematically, and comprehensively throughout the institution.
The QAC plays a key role in designing and developing the quality assurance system, overseeing its implementation, preparing quality assurance documents and instruments, and conducting monitoring, evaluation, and audits of standard achievement. In addition, the QAC coordinates follow-up actions based on evaluation results as part of continuous quality improvement efforts.
The implementation of quality assurance at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas is guided by Law Number 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, as well as the latest regulations, including Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation Number 53 of 2023 and Ministerial Regulation Number 39 of 2025 on Higher Education Quality Assurance. Within this framework, the Higher Education Quality Assurance System consists of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), the External Quality Assurance System (EQAS), and the Higher Education Database (PDDikti). The IQAS is implemented autonomously by the university through the PPEPP cycle to ensure the fulfillment and continuous improvement of quality standards.
As part of the evaluation stage in the PPEPP cycle, the QAC conducts Internal Quality Audits (IQA) periodically. In line with the latest policy, the Internal Quality Audit is conducted once per academic year, with a focus on assessing the effectiveness of standard implementation across all units. This process is complemented by regular monitoring and evaluation activities as well as internal self-assessments, ensuring that quality assurance is both administrative and substantive in improving institutional performance.
The university’s commitment to quality assurance began in 2005 with the implementation of a formal quality management system. In 2006, Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas successfully obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification from an international certification body and has consistently maintained and updated this certification in subsequent years. This achievement reflects the institution’s strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of governance and academic services.
Currently, Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas has achieved “Excellent” institutional accreditation, supported by study programs that have also attained high accreditation status. Furthermore, as a recognition of its global quality standards in business and management education, the university has obtained international accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). This accomplishment strengthens the university’s position in delivering education that meets both national and international standards.
In its continuous pursuit of excellence, the QAC actively engages in benchmarking activities with other higher education institutions that demonstrate best practices in quality assurance management. These initiatives enable the university to adopt innovations, refine existing systems, and ensure that its quality assurance practices remain relevant and globally competitive.
All these achievements are supported by the active role of the QAC, together with the GPM and GKM units, in ensuring that quality standards are consistently implemented and continuously improved in alignment with regulatory developments, stakeholder needs, and the university’s vision and mission.
