One of them is from the Center for Experimental Studies (PKE) STIE Perbanas Surabaya. Although it has only been established for a few months, this study center has held six national webinars.

That is the head of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., said that institutionally his party is focusing on establishing a study center. "Regarding the study center, the Experimental Study Center will only be installed in 2020 at STIE Perbanas Surabaya. And, this is an activity of young lecturers from the Bachelor of Accounting study program, "he said.

He continued, the agenda of PKE activities is coaching, experimental research, and producing articles and books. Like the last one, a Webinar Series entitled "Current Experimental Research in Economics and Business" was held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The event which took place in Zoom presented resource persons Ertambang Nahartyo, Ph.D. from Gadjah Mada University.

According to Ertambang Nahartyo, Ph.D, research with an economic or business background must have a kick. The main effect and impact is the contribution of the economy. If the field is economics, both the paper and the scientific work must have economic consequences. "Economics itself talks about elections. So it's about the science of choosing, making choices or making decisions. Why do you have to choose because of the scarcity, ”he said when starting the material.

Talking about research in the fields of business and economics, he emphasized that traditionally it has been institutional for hundreds of years. That is, the object of research is institutions, covering the state, government, banks, and organizations. "And the study is about institutional policies," he explained.

Furthermore, he explained that research in the field of business and economics is in the form of archival data or what is called archival data. Sources of research data can be taken from publications, the Central Bureau of Statistics, Capital Market, Cloud, and Compustat. "The evidence obtained is empirical evidence. So, what is emphasized is the Empirical Affident, "he added.

Given the nature of institutional research, according to him the variables that are owned are up to millions. All of these variables are influencing and very complex. This means that an in-depth analysis of the cause-and-effect relationship is needed. So, good empirical data is natural. It comes from humans. "Individually, our behavior is data. Our behavior deserves research, "he stressed.

Please note, a person's behavior is predictable but difficult to understand. This condition can be the main thing to be researched (human behaviority) so that behavior research emerges. "Behavior Research can be approached in a variety of methods, but if what is going to be in the future is a causal relationship, then experimentation is the answer," he said. (eko / hms)
