Perbanas Surabaya held a Workshop on Free Learning Curriculum - Merdeka Campus, Thursday (28/01) through the online media Zoom. This event was attended by all lecturers who taught courses starting at the diploma, bachelor and master level.

Merdeka Learning - Merdeka Campus is one of the policies of our new Minister of Education and Culture, Mas Nadiem Makarim. In his new policy, the former GOJEK founder applies Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka. One of the policies in the Merdeka Belajar - Merdeka Campus program is the right of students to study outside their study program for 3 semesters.

Perbanas Surabaya responded to this new curriculum policy by holding an MBKM Curriculum Workshop. The purpose of holding this event is to disseminate new policies and prepare lecturers for the implementation of MBKM. With the implementation of the MBKM policy, automatically the old curriculum must be adjusted so that it is in line with the implementation of the MBKM.

The preparation of the MBKM curriculum is adjusted to the KKNI, then it is formulated through Learning Outcomes (CPL). The old CPL formulation was reviewed and adjusted to the detailed courses of the study program. Furthermore, the results of the formulation of the CPL were trimmed until the MBKM curriculum was formed.

The MBKM Curriculum Workshop was led directly by the Head of the Academic Section of the Perbanas Surabaya Institute, Mr. Emanuel Kristijadi. According to him, there are four policies carried out by the independent campus program, namely the university accreditation system, the right to study for 3 semesters outside the study program, the opening of a new study program, and the ease of becoming a PTN-BH. Meanwhile, there are 8 activities that support the process of implementing an independent campus, namely students doing apprenticeships, students building villages, teaching students, student exchanges, students doing research, students doing entrepreneurship, students carrying out humanitarian programs, and students making independent projects.

The speaker in this workshop is Prof. Tatik Suryani, who is one of the lecturers at Perbanas Surabaya and also serves as an Expert Staff at LLDIKTI Surabaya Region.

Prof. Tatik Suryani in her material said that the MBKM curriculum must be realized immediately, because this will be an assessment of campus readiness in facing new policies from the Ministry of Education and Culture. This curriculum itself will be implemented in the next semester. By preparing the curriculum as early as possible, it is hoped that this curriculum will be able to make university graduate students more ready to compete in the world of work. (yudha / hms).
