Ahead of the commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020, high school / vocational / MA students on the same level are enthusiastic about participating in the National Debate Competition. This online competition was attended by dozens of students from various regions in Indonesia, including: Riau, Gorontalo, Lampung, Jakarta and East Java.

The Chief Executive, Putri Wulanditya, S.E., M.Ak., said that this debate competition is always held every year by the Pusat Penelitian Pencegahan Kejahatan Kerah Putih (P3K2P) STIE Perbanas Surabaya. This year, it is different from usual, considering that the Covid-19 pandemic still envelops Indonesian territory.

"Before today's debate competition takes place, we will socialize the rules for the online debate competition at the Technical Meeting last Friday," said Putri during the event on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

Putri continued, actually there are still many participants who want to take part in this competition list, but the administration limits it to 30 teams. Each team consists of 3 students and the school can send a maximum of 2 teams. He explained that this online debate competition uses the Asian Parliamentary system, meaning that there is a Pro team and a Counter team.

"The debate competition lasts two rounds, namely the preliminary round and the final round. During the preliminary round there were 15 debate sessions. Then, the 6 teams with the highest scores will enter the final round, ”he explained.

It should be noted that the scoring criteria for each debate participant set by the jury include: argumentation, cohesiveness, attitude, and accuracy of answers to questions from the jury. Later, all teams participating in the competition will fight for the championship, namely 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. In addition to millions of rupiah cash prizes and certificates, they are also entitled to receive Education Vouchers to enter STIE Perbanas Surabaya. (hms)
