STIE Perbanas Surabaya will soon turn 50 years old, to be precise on January 29, 2020. In order to welcome it, the entire academic community participated in the Opening Ceremony which was held on Friday, December 6, 2019. Located on the campus yard 1 Jl Nginden Semolo 34-36 Surabaya, emphasis on sirens by the Chairman of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., accompanied by all the leaders along with alumni marked the start of the activity known as Lustrum X.

Chairman of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., said the Lustrum X commemoration was a medium for a reminder of the progress of the campus where the foundations of the predecessors were good to be continued. In this good moment, he wanted to invite the entire community to realize the campus vision. "The vision of STIE Perbanas Surabaya is summarized in 3 important words, namely Leading, Excellence, and Global," explained Yudi Sutarso.

He continued, the Global vision has been realized by collaborating with overseas campuses. This year, the Institute A Accredited Business and Banking campus has sent student lecturers through the Student Exchange Program / Sit-in in the Philippines, Thailand, and the Netherlands. In 2020, students can choose more destination countries for Student Exchange / Sit-ins, Summer Camps, to Masters Scholarships and Internships. The destination countries include: Japan, South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.

Even though it carries a global vision, STIE Perbanas Surabaya still instills Indonesian cultural values. Yudi Sutarso emphasized that the Opening Lustrum X activity, which scheduled traditional competitions and Sego Bancakan, was a form of inheriting Indonesian culture that must be introduced to the younger generation. "Perbanas students must have a global vision, but they cannot abandon the values ​​of Indonesian culture," he said.

Chitra Laksmi Rithmaya, SE, MM, as the Chief Executive added, after this opening a series of activities will be held from December 2019 to December 2020. After the Opening, a number of activity agendas are waiting, including: Competition Week, Social Service, Thanksgiving, Activities Scientific, and Gathering. "Later, we will close the series of events with the PASSION Competition by Paskibra Student Activity Unit (UKM)," he added.

The joy of opening Lustrum X was seen when lecturers, staff, and students of STIE Perbanas Surabaya were involved in traditional competitions. The competitions that were held included: Pulling the Mine, Eating Crackers with Your Feet, Tic Tac Toe, Get Shoes, Moving Flour, and Walking Gloves. After the competition, all participants went to the Auditorium to take part in the Sego Bancakan. (public relations)
