On Thursday, 29 June 2017 at 18.50 WIB, STIE Perbanas Surabaya students left for the Netherlands to take part in the Summer School program organized by Utrecht University. This student from Indonesia learned about Entrepreneurship for 9 days in the land of windmills. The two students who had the opportunity to study for free were named Shandi Wiratmoko and Yulia Frischanita. Currently, they are still in Semester 6, majoring in Bachelor of Accountancy.

Head of the Cooperation Section of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Rohmad Fuad Armansyah, SE., M.Sc., said the transfair academic award scholarship is a form of collaboration between STIE Perbanas Surabaya and Transfair Foundation the Netherlands. The student who left for Utrecht University has gone through various stages of selection so that 2 students were selected. Selection is carried out starting from administrative files, academic and non-academic achievements, communication skills (especially English), and so on.

"Actually, we proposed 3 students who passed the selection from campus to take part in the 2017 Transfair Academic Awards Scholarship program, but 2 students were selected to go to Utrecht University. This quota is somewhat more than the previous year, because there is only one person," he explained. Rohmad Fuad A.

He added that the quota for STIE Perbanas Surabaya was added by the Transfair Foundation considering that the selected candidates have their respective qualities. "Both have different individual achievements. Shandi is very competent in the non-academic field, especially skills regarding Indonesian culture such as dancing and playing gamelan instruments. Meanwhile, Yulia is competent in academics and communication skills," he added.

The lecture on Entrepreneurship which took place on 1-7 July 2017 was used by STIE Perbanas Surabaya students to explore knowledge and culture of building businesses in European and other countries. The reason is, all students who take part in the 2017 summer school program are followed by various countries around the world. At the end of the lecture, an evaluation will be held so that students who pass the program will get recognition shown through a certificate.

One of the scholarship recipients, Sandhi Wiratmoko, admitted that he had prepared everything that was needed when he joined the summer school program.
