Students from UHW Perbanas’s Master of Management program also conducted a company visit to BWG Circles, where 17 students from cohorts 35 and 36 were led by Prof. Dr. Dra. Tatik Suryani, Psi., M.M., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, to gain insights into the management practices of a prominent company in Singapore.
Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by Mr. Song Joo Lim, the CEO and founder of BWG Circles, who shared his journey before establishing the company. Mr. Lim emphasized the importance of "learning in every process." Prof. Tatik recounted the lesson learned from their discussion: “To succeed, one must be willing to learn from every experience, do everything wholeheartedly, make connections, and respect others.”
Prof. Tatik elaborated on Mr. Lim’s insights, explaining that knowledge and skills can be acquired, but taking advantage of opportunities requires connections. Mastery of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential, yet human creativity, connectivity, and communication skills determine one's ability to seize these opportunities. She added, “These three soft skills are crucial for business development, as shown in Mr. Lim’s journey.”
Although Mr. Lim had no formal higher education, he continually learned from each step, building connections that fostered trust and collaboration, which ultimately allowed his business to thrive. (pr)
