Good news has come for teachers who teach banking subjects in schools. The Lecturer Team from Universitas Hayam Wuruk (UHW) Perbanas has developed a web-based banking learning application specifically designed for educators who are members of the Accounting and Banking Subject Teacher Forum (MGMP) in Surabaya.
The head of the UHW Perbanas Lecturer Team, Evi Sistiyarini, S.E., M.M., explained that the motivation behind launching this application is that teachers who handle banking-related subjects often face challenges with transaction bookkeeping, mainly due to the lack of online software. Additionally, some schools have banking laboratories that are not fully utilized because the networks are still Local Area Network (LAN)-based.
"Therefore, this web-based banking application addresses these limitations, allowing teachers to access it online anytime and anywhere with an internet connection," she said during the training on using the web-based banking application for MGMP Accounting and Banking teachers in Surabaya, Thursday (10/10).
Before implementing the application for students, the UHW Perbanas team also provided training and in-depth material for the teachers. Evi added that the training aims to introduce the operational system of the banking application, including how to create classes, enter student data, and generate tokens for the first transaction.
"Here at UHW Perbanas, we also deepen the teachers' understanding of the types of transactions in every front office and back office section. This includes how to input transactions and interpret the financial reports generated by the banking application," she explained.
The banking application, named Bank MGMP, has functions similar to those of conventional and Islamic banks. Later, teachers can integrate it into the learning process according to the programs or curricula implemented by the schools. The banking application was officially handed over by the UHW Perbanas Lecturer Team to the MGMP Accounting and Banking of Surabaya.
It is worth noting that the banking application provided to the teachers' group is part of a Community Service activity funded by a 2024 grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The team responsible for the program includes Evi Sistiyarini, S.E., M.M. (Chair), Dr. Drs. Emanuel Kritijadi, M.M., and Nura’ini Rokhmania, S.E., M.Ak. (pr).
