The Student Association of Sharia Economics Bachelor's Program (Himaprodi) at Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University is assisting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in registering for halal certification. This activity is packaged through a community service program (abdimas) in the Education Village of RT 03 RW 04, North Perak Sub-District, Pabean Cantian District, Surabaya.

Dinda Mutiara Putri A.A., as the chief executive of the activity, stated that they aim to assist MSMEs in the Education Village in obtaining halal certification.

"The concept is that UHW Perbanas students assist in entering the requirements and details of SME products on the official website for halal registration and certification, namely SiHalal," said Dinda.

Furthermore, Dinda mentioned that the Sharia Economics Himaprodi at UHW Perbanas also conducts socialization about the procedures and importance of halal certification to ensure the sustainability and quality of their businesses with halal certification.

"Because according to Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (JPH), food and beverage products must be halal certified by October 17, 2024," she explained during the mentoring session on Saturday (9/3).

More than 10 MSMEs in the Education Village are interested in participating in the mentoring. They run businesses primarily in the food and beverage sector, including various juices, packed rice, chips, kebabs, mixed vegetables with peanut sauce, meatball soup, smashed fried chicken, traditional herbal drinks, cakes, and others.
