The Faculty of Economics and Business at Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University has been supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) to achieve International Accreditation. Four programs have been approved, namely: Bachelor's in Accounting, Bachelor's in Management, Bachelor's in Sharia Economics, and Master's in Management. This was stated in the Announcement of the Results of the Selection of Program Facilitation Assistance Proposals to Obtain International Accreditation for the Year 2023.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UHW Perbanas, Dr. Lutfi, S.E., M.Fin., mentioned that this support is a result of the achievement of national accreditation for programs in his faculty, which are already rated as Excellent (Unggul) and A. The next step is to achieve international recognition as outlined in the strategic plan (Renstra), targeted for the year 2025.

"So, since 2021, we have been preparing to become a member of IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education). Our target for 2023 is to achieve Candidacy Accreditation, which means that our faculty will be accredited internationally," he explained during the IACBE Inhouse Training event on Tuesday (19/9).

Taking place at Novotel Samator Surabaya, he and the accreditation team along with the leadership of UHW Perbanas are currently undergoing training to prepare the next phase of accreditation eligibility documents. These documents must be submitted no later than December 2023. "However, our desire is to submit them by the end of September 2023," he clarified.

To accelerate the target, the President Director of IACBE, Dr. Laurie Yates, came directly from America to provide materials and evaluate the prepared documents.

"Today, we want to complete one important aspect, called the Academic Outcome Plan. This involves planning what the graduates will be like. So, our achievements encompass several key points, including ethical aspects, understanding of business aspects, critical thinking skills, communication skills, and technology," he added.

One of the benefits of being internationally accredited is that FEB UHW Perbanas will be facilitated in collaborating with foreign universities, especially those that are already members of IACBE due to their international standards.

"Our hope is that by 2024, all four of these programs will be internationally accredited," he concluded. (PR)
