An Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in a university is an independent activity of that particular university, where the process is designed, executed, and controlled by the university itself. The orientation towards quality requires an assurance system to enhance quality continuously. The quality assurance system in an educational institution is both an external and internal demand.

Recognizing the urgency and importance of the role of the quality assurance institution, the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (LPMI) of the Islamic University of Madura (UIM) conducted a benchmarking visit on internal quality assurance to the University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas (UHW Perbanas) on January 5, 2023, in Room C401 of the UHW Perbanas Campus. This activity implements the collaborative quality improvement effort initiated with an MoU between the two universities in 2020. The benchmarking visit serves as a platform for formally implementing the collaboration, followed by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the quality assurance institutions.

Dr. Luciana Spica Almilia, M.Si., the Head of the Center of Quality Assurance (PPM) of UHW Perbanas, and her team welcomed the benchmarking activity attended by Dr. Muhsi, M.T. (Head of LPMI of UIM), and several other delegates. The agreed-upon collaboration between the two institutions will be implemented over the next 2 (two) years. The scope and form of activities between the two universities include developing standards, enhancing auditor competence, and training on SPMI. (AA)
